About the Event
This is a private event to celebrate the incoming cohort of young women in our DRONe Project. Family, friends, community leaders, corporate partners, are invited to witness this momentous occasion. Out of ongoing caution in relation to COVID-19, invites are limited. Submit this form today to requst an invitation.

This celebration is for 22 BIPOC young women who are part of a workforce development program to publish BIPOC history in San Diego County. These young women, aged 14 - 19, will undergo a 12-month program to become licensed drone pilots trained in the use of LiDAR to create virtual exhibits for our virtual BIPOC history museum. The virtual We The People Museum will features exhibits created by DRONe Project participants. This space will be virtually located in San Diego and will set the standard for creating spaces honoring BIPOC voices and stories beyond enslavement and trauma. The digital historic preservation of these legacies will serve generations to come.These girls will receive training similar to the National Geographic crew that discovered the lost Mayan Ruins in Guatamela. They will survey and create exhibits for Julian Pioneer Cemetery to share its Black and Indigenous history and Harrison Serenity Ranch home of the first Black land owner in San Diego County. Their work will debut on July 29, 2023.
